The PCC has voted in favour of encouraging young people to be admitted to communion before confirmation.
Among groups for youngsters are:
- Sunday School meets in the Crypt during the 10.15mass and is for children aged 4-11
- YACC - 'Youth At Christ Church' meets weekly in term time on Friday 5 -7 pm in the Parish Hall and is for children school years 3 -6.
- YACC PLUS Year 7 upwards meets weekly in term time on Friday 7.15 - 9.15 pm - for all details contact Fr Tim 433614
- Uniformed groups meet in the Parish Centre. - is a Voluntary Aided Primary school with a Nursery and occupies new buildings a quarter of a mile north of the church.
- the parish clergy visit at least once a week to lead whole school worship. Each half term we celebrate School Mass with both Key Stages. The clergy teach Religious Education as well as aspects of the Christian life and spiritual development across the Key Stages and ability ranges.
- members of Christ Church congregation serve as Foundation Governors. Each governor is linked to a particular curriculum area.
- Christ Church building serves as a valuable resource for RE, art, culture, citizenship, history, design technology and other areas of the curriculum as well as promoting SMSC.
- the local area is part of an Education Action Zone Link to EAZ
